I thought the GS was always a handsome, understated car. I don’t see too many of them, though; most Lexus cars around here are the RX, IS, or ES.
As far as their new, aggressive design language goes, I think the large sedans wear them best - I think the LS and GS both look good with the large grille, although I do really miss the understated looks of the previous generations.

Yes. This and its predecessor was, for me, the best of Lexus. It exudes elegance while not being over wrought. The F division should have started with this generation. It could have been nice.
I also like how it ends at the back with an almost kammback like rear in some angles

That gen GS is a pig. It’s fat, heavy, handles like an ocean-liner, and the interior is terrible. The wood is this horrid cherry color, the seating position is way too high, and it is very cramped inside.
Even with the V8, it’s still slow.
The new ones are much better.

But it is a good evolution of the Giugiaro design...

I have been looking at older versions of these on CL with the intentions of making a VIP cruiser. And I normally dislike stuff like that.

I just posted that. Yes, it fits the VIP Cruiser profile perfectly. Perhaps because of its size?

I am not arguing that it isn’t a handsome vehicle. Only that in all other respects it’s terrible.

One of the most handsome Lexus vehicles they have made in a while

I have always loved this car. The girlfriend went for a 2009 RX350 instead of a GS450h/460/350 and everytime I see one it makes me sad. They’re one of the most beautiful, understated cars ever. (Also, slushbox, would you be interested in starting a Toyota themed kinja blog with me? I feel like Jalopnik deserves it as well as the Toyota world)

You can get different kinds of wood trim in the GS. The super red one isn’t the prettiest, but there are plenty of other great looking options.

So do I! Enough to actually think about getting a facelifted GS450H once I’m sick of things breaking all the time. Nothing says environmentally responsible more than a rwd luxury sedan going 0-60 in 5.2 seconds! The only weakness seems to be the battery pack, more and more info about cells causing trouble popping up now.

I am still not a fan of that gen GS. The new ones are infinitely better.

Well if you can help me figure out how to make a blog page I’m in for sure! Who would be the person to ask?
